8 From fewer ingredients to greater expectations. Clean labels, No Artificial Ingredients, and No Antibiotics Ever are not just fads, they’re expectations. Parents are raising their voices and concerns over the ingredients served in schools. In fact, a study of 3,800 parents found that 72% agreed that No Antibiotics Ever was an important claim for school meals, while 71% of parents said No Artificial Ingredients mattered to them.¹ These sentiments are already impacting how K-12 foodservice pros choose items for their schools. To improve the quality perceptions of their food and go beyond parents’ expectations, they’re demanding cleaner labels without artificial ingredients for their students. One survey found that for 91% of operators, the No Artificial Ingredients claim was important in making purchasing decisions for chicken items, with 73% saying No Antibiotics Ever was a deciding factor.² Your Tyson K-12 Schools Team is listening. That’s why we’re taking action to help define what a cleaner label is, by changing not only how we raise chickens, but also changing the ingredients that go into our products.
